Boise River Marathon

Lets run Boise!

The second annual Boise River Marathon is almost here, and Fleet Feet Meridian is thrilled to be a part of this exciting event! This race is expected to be a great success, with 222 runners representing 35 non-Idaho states flying/driving in to support our local communities.

The race directors of this event are SoleKIDs, INC., a 501c3 qualified public charity that has been giving back to the community since their inception in 2017. They have hosted numerous 5K events, fun runs for schools and community fundraisers, raising over $25,000 for local schools in the Boise, West Ada, and Nampa School Districts. They have also received awards for being Idaho's top non-profit and raised $10,000 in the fight against children's cancer.

The races will start on Saturday, April 22, 2023, with the marathon and half marathon starting at 7:00am, followed by the 10K and 5K at 8:00am. Participants should arrive early, as sunrise is expected around 6:51 a.m. and a headlamp may be necessary at the parking and shuttle area. However, the ambient light through the canyon when running the marathon & half marathon should be sufficient.

The courses will be well-marked with blue, pink, green, and yellow Boise River Marathon flags, directional arrow signs at each turn, and cones for key turns on the marathon and half marathon courses. Participants will cross aid stations every two miles on the course, which will be equipped with water, Gatorade sports drink, GU gels, chews, and even Pickle Juice for the marathon & half marathon. Participants are encouraged not to litter on the course and dispose of their trash at the aid stations.

Packet pick-up will be held at Fleet Feet Meridian from 5-7 p.m. on Tuesday, April 18, and again on Thursday, April 20, from noon-2 p.m. On Friday, April 21, packets can be picked up at Fleet Feet Meridian from noon-2 p.m. and at Payette Brewing from noon-2 p.m. Out-of-town runners can pick up their packets at Payette Brewing on Friday, April 21, from 7-8 p.m. and on Saturday, April 22, from 5-7 a.m. Fleet Feet Meridian is excited to provide Mizuno shoe to each of the male and female winners. There is also a raffle for a free pair of Mizuno shoes, all you have to do to enter is a try on a pair of Mizuno shoes when you come for packet pickup. 

Free parking will be available to the left of and behind Payette Brewing, as well as along Shoreline Drive.
